The Rupture disc(RD) sampler is a full opening, annulus pressure operated sampler used in cased hole. It is used in drillstem test to catch a sample under pressure. The following is the feature of the RD sampler:
The sampler is controlled by a rupture disk which is with high accuracy, so the operating pressure is more accurate and steady.Full-opening capabilities are retained no matter the tool has trapped its sample or not.The sampler allows sampling at any time during a test without effecting the following operations.There is a piston-pushing device in the sampler. When the tool was drifted to the ground, the piston-pushing device can transfer the sample to the other container under high pressure to do high pressure PVT analysis.
It is a “one shot” type tool that once it has been closed, it will not reopen again when running in the hole. If it need sample at different times of the test, several samplers can be run on a test according to the different level of the operating pressure.
